Greetings from India!
I wasn’t planning on working while I was here. However, I was deeply compelled to come on and write to you today. As I sat in meditation during my 4th day of the hardest yoga classes I have ever taken (they don’t play here!), a lot of things showed up for me. Things that have been dormant, things that have been painful, things that I thought I worked through, landed on my chest like a heavy plate. And yet in that moment, I simultaneously felt a deep sense of gratitude those things actually did show up and came into my awareness.
It was a challenge for me to freely let go and allow the stuff that was showing up to release. I wanted to hold onto it and grip it like a vice. However, experience has taught me it is far better to lean in and let go rather than to fight, resist, and stuff it all back down. So I did. I felt the ebb and flow of all the emotions, accepted the tears that were flowing until finally, a sense of lightness and tranquility settled in.
I’m ever so grateful for my meditation practice, Reiki, yoga, and my spiritual teachers and advisors. These people and practices have transformed my life radically and given me tools to maneuver the waters of life, which has allowed me to cultivate internal peace and happiness.
So, what’s my point of all this? My message for you today is to give yourself the gift of stillness, and for you to know that you do not need to be in an exotic land, or be in a meditation room, or a yoga studio to engage in this practice. The external conditions are not important at all. It is having your own internal experience relating with yourself and seeing what can show up for you. The place of transformation and stillness is within. So, I encourage you to take 5 minutes today, get still, breathe and see what comes around for you. What kind of stuff is confronting you? What is lying dormant within you? What is showing up that you can have gratitude for? And whatever it is…Be with it. Embrace it. Feel it. Let it go.
Namaste beautiful one 🙏
Maggie
